Since Cat & Jack launched in 2016, Target’s children’s clothing brand has been one of the standout successes of its owned-brand merchandising strategy. Today, the brand brings in more than $3 billion annually. And the company’s one-year satisfaction guarantee is a big reason why parents love it. In fact, some shoppers have even posted videos on TikTok showing how they return a pair of shoes or outgrown clothes back to Target to get cash back or new outfits.
While some may argue that Target is giving away too much for free, retail experts explain that the store’s lenient policy actually helps its bottom line. “A generous return policy helps bring in customers, and it encourages consumers to spend more,” Hitha Herzog, a retail analyst at H Squared Research, tells Business Insider. That’s because when a parent returns a Cat & Jack outfit, they might be more likely to buy something else while they’re there. The store’s other private label brands, such as All in Motion athleticwear, Made By Design kitchen and dining supplies, Mondo Llama arts and crafts and Cloud Island baby gear all benefit from that.
In addition to a slew of clothes, Target’s private-label offerings include everyday essentials such as up&up cleaning products and personal care items. It also carries a range of kids’ toys and accessories, including the ever-popular Hatchimals and Barbies. And it offers a range of home decor and furnishings, from cribs to furniture and storage solutions.
The retailer’s newest addition is Colsie, which features intimates, lounge and sleepwear styles that are of-the-moment, adventurous and effortless. The collection includes a number of organic baby clothes for both boys and girls, as well as accessories like pajamas with built-in footies.
Many parents choose to purchase organic cotton baby clothes because they are healthier for little ones. Conventional cotton is grown using synthetic pesticides and fertilizers and can irritate babies’ delicate skin. Organic cotton, on the other hand, is grown without any chemical aids and does not contain toxins that can harm young children’s bodies or development.
Shoppers can find a huge selection of baby clothing at target, including soft cotton t-shirts and rompers in sweet prints and vibrant hues for both newborns and toddlers. Dress babies in footed pajamas for special occasions or a cute baby winter outfit, or grab a ruffle jumpsuit to take pictures with Santa for their first Christmas. Then, complete their wardrobe with a pair of baby booties to keep them comfy and cozy.
